Troutman Pepper Recognized by Leadership Council on Legal Diversity as a Top Performer and Compass Award Winner

Award

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on Nov. 3.

Troutman Pepper has been named a Top Performer and Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), an organization committed to creating a diverse legal profession. The Top Performer award recognizes those organizations in the top 20% for participation in LCLD programs and activities.

The Compass Award recognizes those individuals and organizations that fulfill certain requirements in a single calendar year:

  • Member attendance at the 2020 LCLD Annual Membership Meeting and/or Member attendance at a 2021 Leadership Summit and/or submission of a Leader’s Pledge.
  • Participation in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder Programs.
  • Participation in an LCLD Pipeline program (the 1L Scholars program or the Success in Law School Mentoring Program).
“We believe strongly in the mission of LCLD and are committed to working with industry leaders to create a truly diverse profession,” said Troutman Pepper Chair Steve Lewis. “LCLD is successful because it focuses on actions that lead to tangible results, and our firm is proud to help support its work.”

LCLD is one of the nation’s leading organizations promoting diversity and consists of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have dedicated themselves to creating a diverse U.S. legal profession.

Troutman Pepper has been involved with the LCLD since the organization was founded in 2009. The firm participates in several LCLD programs, including its Fellows, Alumni, Pathfinders and 1L Scholars programs. Troutman Pepper also serves as the city-lead for Philadelphia area law schools as part of LCLD’s Success in Law School Mentoring Program, which pairs practicing attorneys from LCLD member organizations with first year law students from diverse backgrounds to serve as mentors.

Diversity and inclusion are among Troutman Pepper’s core values. The firm recently earned Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification Plus status, which aims to increase the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates. “Plus” status indicates that, in addition to meeting or exceeding the pipeline consideration requirements for certification, the firm has successfully reached at least 30% diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of its current leadership roles and committees.
