FRESNO -- A man claims to have been wrongfully terminated after retaliation and having his privacy invaded.

Danny R. Armenta filed a complaint on June 16 in Fresno County Superior Court against Habitat For Humanity Fresno, Inc., Larsen & Callister, Douglas Larsen and Does 1-50 for wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, retaliation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent misrepresentation.

According to the complaint, Armenta was offered the position of CEO for Habitat of Humanity Fresno on Nov. 14, 2020. Armenta was hired after the nonprofit ran background checks, including those of his personal and financial background, he says.

Armenta is an ordained minister and received a B.A. in Theology Studies from LIFE Pacific College in San Dimas, California. Armenta alleged that Habitat for Humanity Fresno then fired him after the conclusion of the 60-day wait period for various benefits on the basis of personal and financial matters which should not have been any concern for the nonprofit.

Armenta seeks consequential and emotional distress damages in the amount of $1,000,000 and cost of suit. Armenta is represented by Daniel S. Latter of Latter Law Group, APC
