Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on Apr. 8.
Troutman Pepper ranked 10th among 4,200 firms tracked in the April 6 Leopard Law Firm Index, which measures law firm health and stability using real-time data analytics and analysis that goes beyond financials. The new index aims to give firms and in-house counsel “a more accurate sense of how law firms are really doing in the present day.”
Firms are ranked for profitability, viability, growth, and potential opportunity, among other criteria, with each firm receiving a score from 0 to 500. Troutman Pepper scored 433, earning the highest status of “very good” and ranking 10th at the time of launch. The scores are updated bi-weekly as data is collected.
The Leopard Law Firm Index is based on seven weighted indicators of law firm sustainability. Key metrics include attorney growth and retention, financial stability over time, lateral recruiting success, Insider Score – surveys of attorneys at the firm about their workplace (done in partnership with Above the Law), attorney promotions as well as how ethnically diverse a firm is compared to others.
