JACKSON LEWIS: Jackson Lewis Names Lara Hamm Chief Communications Officer

Jackson Lewis issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Lara Hamm has been appointed as the firm’s first Chief Communication Officer. As Chief Communications Officer, Lara is responsible for Jackson Lewis’ firmwide internal communications and media relations initiatives.

“Since joining the firm, Lara has proven herself as an adept communicator and a trusted advisor who consistently advocates for the firm and our people,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “The past year has showed us how significant internal communications and media relations are both in times of turmoil and calm, and we are very excited to have Lara in charge of a team truly dedicated to strategic communications efforts. We congratulate her on this well-deserved appointment.”

As Chief Communications Officer, Lara will collaborate with the Firm Chair, Firm Managing Principal Samantha Hoffman, senior firm leadership officials and Jackson Lewis thought leaders to develop and implement a firmwide communications and media relations strategy. In addition, Lara will work with the firm’s offices, practice and industry groups, and Business Services departments to hone Jackson Lewis’ internal communications and public relations processes, to ensure the firm is communicating while maintaining the Jackson Lewis culture and brand. Lara’s responsibilities will also include implementing strategic firm projects to ensure the firm and our attorneys are presented positively and consistently.

“As we all know, it has been a unique year and the needs of many businesses have changed in terms of how they are being viewed by employees and the public,” Lara said. “My goal as Chief Communications Officer is to ensure that the firm is effectively engaging with its employees and the public, and that our culture and brand are accurately reflected in all circumstances.” 

Lara is a frequent speaker and writer for the Legal Marketing Association, where she comments on law firm marketing and communications. She is a graduate of Michigan State University.
