Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
Troutman Pepper partners Wynter Deagle and Michael Whitton have been recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as Leaders in Law for their work in cybersecurity and real estate, respectively. Deagle, managing partner of the firm’s San Diego office and a partner in its Business Litigation Practice Group, represents businesses in the courtroom when they face issues found at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation. A Certified Information Privacy Professional and experienced trial lawyer, Deagle specializes in defending clients from privacy and cybersecurity-related consumer class actions, business disputes, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions. In addition to her privacy and cybersecurity expertise, Deagle represents clients in complex commercial litigation. Outside of litigation, Deagle partners with businesses to respond to data security incidents and roll out tech and data-driven products and services, while complying with the conflicting maze of privacy and data security laws and avoiding litigation.
Deagle is passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal and business communities. She is a member of Troutman Pepper’s Diversity Committee and founded the San Diego office’s diverse attorney recruiting program. Deagle is also President of the Board of Directors of Girls Inc. of San Diego County and pro bono counsel to SunLaw.

He builds effective and efficient teams, manages cases and budgets, participates in trials and, as needed, develops settlement strategies and leads mediation and settlement conferences. He previously served as San Diego managing partner and in several executive leadership positions within the firm.
In addition to his real estate practice, Whitton is very involved in the San Diego community and was recently elected chairman of the Board of Trustees for California Western School of Law. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Endowment Committee for St. Augustine High School, a local all-boys Catholic high school.
