In addition, he litigates the restructured trademark rights of distressed companies, along with other trademark matters related to reorganization.

“Brent’s skills as an intellectual property litigator across the full spectrum of copyright, patent, trademark, and trade secret matters are an outstanding asset to our clients. We are proud to welcome him and to continue to grow our dynamic Los Angeles office,” said Los Angeles Office Co-Managing Shareholders Jeff E. Scott and Gregory A. Fishman in a joint statement. Scott is also co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice, which comprises more than 600 litigators worldwide.

Sokol regularly speaks on topics involving global restructuring of intellectual property assets. He has authored numerous updates on global trademark enforcement. Sokol earned a J.D., cum laude, from Boston University, and a B.S. from Northwestern University.

“I am very pleased to join Greenberg Traurig’s highly respected IP and litigation practices,” Sokol said. “My clients know and respect Greenberg Traurig and several had independently engaged the firm on other matters. I am confident that all of my clients will benefit from the firm’s global platform of resources and collaborative culture.”
