Reed Smith LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
The Daily Journal has named Reed Smith partner Mara Curtis one of California’s Top 40 under 40 Lawyers for 2020.
Curtis is a partner in the Labor & Employment Group in Los Angeles. She litigates wage and hour matters, and provides employment and compliance advice. She has extensive experience representing employers in both state and federal court, and has handled numerous putative and/or certified class actions alleging overtime, minimum wage, meal and rest period, and wage statement claims.
This is Curtis’s first time being included on the list.
“It is an honor to be selected for the Top 40 under 40 in California. Having spent my whole career at Reed Smith, it is a testament to the attention and support that the people at the firm have offered to help develop young attorneys in their careers,” Curtis said on receiving the recognition.
In its profile of Curtis, the publication highlights her success in California appeals court defending a major grocery chain in a case that was originally filed as a class action under the state’s Private Attorney General Act.
